about
REST OF MY LIFE is one of Norway’s most unique bands at the moment. Their energetic and complex music has conquered many hearts since they first started up in 2000. The group incorporates the best parts of indie, emo and post-rock into a personal and honest expression not quite comparable in this part of the continent. Beautiful melodies mix with disharmony in their dynamic arrangements.

In 2003 rest of my life released their self-titled debut album on their own label Dead Letter Records. The record was fully produced by the band itself and was very well received. People fell in love with the honest production, the sore throats and beautiful harmonies. In the aftermath of this recording the band went through several changes in line-up. Both a third guitarist and a cello were added to the growing family. Intense and focused work with new material led to the recording and release of their 5-track EP Transition in September 2005. The reviews of the EP were extraordinary both in Norwegian and international media. This was a co-release between Dead Letter Records and the most promising How Is Annie Records in Norway. These are indie-labels behind the likes of Johndoe, Silence the foe, Desperado and Youth pictures of Florence Henderson, all of them well known and acknowledged Norwegian hardcore, rock and indie bands.

Rest of my life has done a lot of touring these last years, mainly in Scandinavia. Most of Norway’s most prestigious clubs have been covered, and the following just seems to increase. The rest of my life live experience is described as extremely compelling and energetic. Hard-hitting passages are torn into catchy verses and sing-along choruses. A big highlight for the band was playing support for their indie-heroes in The Appleseed Cast in May last year.

With their second album, Rest of My Life has, evidently, recorded their best release to date. The album is a result of two years of songwriting, and you could safely say that the band has now found their own personal sound. The melodies, which formerly only revealed themselves to skilled ears, are now the basis. And where one earlier used the term chorus as a swearword, they are now making use of it as something positive. But of course, without it being at the expense of details and depth in the music, something which the band has tried to retain despite the changes.

In 2007 the band is touring Europe for the first time, followed by an extensive Norwegian tour to promote their new full length album.
